If you’re not ready to lose weight yet…

fruitIf you’re not quite ready to take the plunge and lose weight by completely changing your lifestyle (healthier eating and more physical exercise), then there is one little thing you can do to help you pave the way.

Start replacing one thing you eat each day (or week if you want to go really slow) with something a little healthier.

For example:

  • Replace two slices of white bread in the morning for two slices of whole wheat or rye bread.
  • Instead of a chocolate bar from the vending machine for an afternoon snack at work, bring a bag of baby carrots to munch on.
  • Try drinking a cup of tea or hot chocolate for an evening snack in place of a bowl of chips.
  • Use whole wheat pasta instead of regular pasta for your evening meals. (The calorie intake is about the same, but the nutrition value is greater).
  • Instead of a big fat greasy burger from the drive-thru, try a Subway Club salad for only 150 calories! That’s for the whole salad!
  • Instead of a can of soda, have a glass of water. It sure doesn’t taste as good, but it will make you feel better physically and mentally if the little angel on your shoulder wins over the little devil on the other.

These are only a few examples and they’ll be different according to your own lifestyle and habits. But its something to think about. Try and think of all the things you can replace with something healthier in your diet and you should start feeling and seeing a difference soon.
