Food cravings are the bane of my existance. I struggle all day long to keep from eating foods and sipping on drinks that aren’t good for me.
As time goes on, I discover new foods and new recipes that are healthy and I enjoy eating. I feel good about myself for making the right choice, and I feel better physically because I’m not putting utter crap into my body.
However, there are still days where I’d love to dive head first into a huge vat of melted chocolate. Or grab an armful of ripple potato chips and dill dip and shove them all down my throat. When I’m having a particularly bad day, it’s very hard to curb the cravings monster.
Knowledge is power, and if you know why you’re having specific cravings, you’re more empowered to say “no” to them. Figuring out why I crave chocolate on bad days and why I need to have coffee just to think straight helps me figure out other ways to cope. That way, I’m free to eat the way I should be and enjoy my days at the same time.
