Unfortunately, a lot of people believe that you shouldn’t eat before you workout in the hopes that the calories your body burns will be taken out of your fat stores.
While this is somewhat true, it’s much more important to fuel your body with some food before you exercise.
I won’t get technical at this point, but think about it this way. If you don’t eat, your body doesn’t have the energy to complete a workout routine.
For example, if I jump on my treadmill first thing in the morning without eating, I can last about 10 minutes before I feel like dying.
If I have two pieces of toast or a glass of orange juice about 30 minutes before I exercise, I have more energy, I can run for a longer period of time, and ultimately I burn more fat.
Not only that, but I don’t end up with a stomach ache afterward.
So next time you exercise, make sure you take care of your body and get the most out of your workout by eating a healthy snack first.
