Losing Weight Doesn’t Have to Cost Money

Have you ever heard someone use the excuse that they don’t exercise because they can’t afford a gym membership, a personal trainer, or an exercise machine? Have you used that excuse yourself? I know I have.

What a lot of people don’t realize (or don’t want to realize) is that exercising doesn’t have to cost money.

One thing that almost everyone does each day is walk. Walking is great exercise, but most of us don’t do it enough to stay fit. By making simple changes, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking to the store instead of driving can make a huge difference. Picking up the pace will increase your heart rate which is even better.

There are plenty of ways to increase the amount of steps you take each day. The great thing about doing this is it doesn’t take up too much extra time in your day and it’s easier than dedicating yourself to a strict exercise regime.

So, by parking farther away from the mall entrance or walking the dog instead of asking your kids to do it, you’re making the first important step in a healthier lifestyle.
