Weight Loss and Patience Go Hand in Hand

Are you the kind of person who wants something and wants it now? When I decided to buy my first house, I wanted it that day. For most people, buying a house can take months, but I was in my house in less than a month from the day I decided I wanted it. I was lucky.

Unfortunately, things don’t happen like that most of the time. Buying a house takes time. Saving up money takes time. Losing weight takes time.

Because of the fact that most things require patience, it’s ultra hard for a lot of us to accept that. Patience really is a virtue, but there are a lot of us who just don’t have enough of it.

The good thing is, if you have patience with your weight loss, you will be more successful in losing the pounds. Why? Because you realize that it takes time. You have realistic goals. You know that losing 1-2 pounds a week is normal. You accept that you won’t fit into your ’skinny’ jeans for possibly months.

Another good thing is, if you don’t have patience, you can learn to have it. Writing down realistic goals for each month can help you with that. I know I’ve talked about this quite a bit before, but being realistic about your weight loss is so vital in achieving your goals.

If you haven’t already started to change your lifestyle habits and lose weight, the first thing I want you to do is sit down with a pen and paper and write down where you want to be in one year, six months, and next month. I’m not just talking weight, I’m talking inches, your eating habits, and how you feel as well.

Once you do this, it’s time to start your journey. The good thing about weight loss is you’ll slim down along the way, so you’ll see rewards before you make it to your ultimate goal. This should help you have more patience when it comes to the big number you want to reach.

If you absolutely cannot wait to get thin, please don’t use other methods of losing weight. Starving yourself is just not an option. Even diet pills can be dangerous, and most don’t give you the results that they claim to. You just have to realize that it’s going to take some time and a lot of hard work and discipline to lose weight. But once you reach the point where you want to be, you’ll be so proud of yourself.
