Trying To Lose Weight While Depressed?

Depression can lead to weight gain, and it can also be caused by weight gain. What’s even worse is the vicious circle can just keep on going and going. Weight loss may seem like an impossible dream.

Instead of waiting for a lightbulb moment (which may never happen), you’re going to have to bite the bullet and deal with it. You can start by seeing your doctor. He can diagnose you and possibly prescribe medication. The second thing you can do is start exercising. While it may take every ounce of discipline to get your body up and walk around the block or run on a treadmill, it will pay off. Studies have shown that exercise can reduce depression – sometimes even more so than any medication.

If you don’t regularly exercise, start slow and gradually work your way up to a good routine. Your body – and mind – will thank you.
